What We Do
Our creative tools and installations create dialogues using engaging digital tools and creative experiences.
We collaborate with partners to create interactive exhibits that unite communities around important topics and facilitate civic dialogues through the intimate and inclusive voice of poetry.
We have created a range of digital tools and analog writing experiences for a variety of spaces—from our Traveling Stanzas Mobile Makerspace, to full gallery exhibits, to pop-up stations in museums, libraries, cultural centers, and more.

Creative Tools
When visitors experience our exhibits and installations, they can interact with creative writing tools and other hands-on activities. Centered around community-curated topics and content, we're excited to collaborate with our partners to bring new poetry experiences to schools, libraries, cultural centers, and more.
Spark Community Poetry App
Spark is both an online and analog creative writing tool where visitors can respond to model poems and prompts, then share their voice to a growing community gallery and map. Participants can upload their own printed cards or photos and print out their responses. Spark can be installed as a part of pop-up or permanent exhibit, and features tools for community moderation.

Our Spark Cards deck encourages students to engage with new combinations of words, images, and actions. Used in workshops along with prompts such as “My voice is…” or “I am from…” can help participants to have fun, making leaps of thoughts and sparking new meaning. Stanza Walls & Print Stations
Stanza Walls are large-scale word-art installations where visitors can share their voice. Adults and children alike can create an individual or group poem out of wood-cut words. The Sharing Wall is a place for visitors to post their Emerge poems.

Traveling Stanzas Gallery & Map
The gallery and map is a collection of Traveling Stanzas artworks and poems launched in 2009. The ongoing project pairs poems generated in community writing workshops with graphic design and illustrations from the School of Visual Communication Design at Kent State University, and has expanded to include public utility boxes and mural installations.
Engaging Spaces
Designed with a modular approach, our exhibits and installations are ready for adaptation to various spaces—whether an open gallery, library hallway, or hospital lobby. These spaces offer people of all ages new opportunities to share their voices and join conversations across language, age, and culture.
Traveling Stanzas Mobile Makerspace
